I'm in Cairo, Egypt. Getting in was easy. I bought some stamps for $15 and got picked up from the airport by  Farag, a crazy taxi driver the guesthouse uses for tours and pickups. He's a nice guy, but was a bit too animated. Overall, my first impressions are good. Cairo seems very modern and this is probably because of all the tourists. There are lots of stores, bright lights, and although traffic is bad, there seems to be a lot of traffic police to keep cars moving. It is a bit cool right now in Cairo and I don't see many tourists so it's probably the low-season.

I met a few travelers from New Zealand, Australia, so we're hoping to save up on some money and share cab rides around the city.
