I decided to leave for Dar Es Salaam early since I was getting too lazy by just sitting in the sun and shade doing absolutely nothing. I am traveling now for a few days with Mark G., an American from Philadelphia, who's heading south to Zambia and South Africa. We took the Sea Bus I from Zanzibar to Dar Es Salaam and it cost $35 or 49,000 Tanzanian shillings. The ride was about 2 hours and a few people vomitted around us. Anyhow, we had this interesting conversation about the propagation of cellular phones and how he believes the African countries are building up the wrong infrastructure. Anyhow, I don't believe in telling anyone what to do especially when I can't speak their language, understand their culture, or live there. I think the African countries should work on water infrastructure and garbage disposal, but it's not my money or problem, so oh well.
We're staying at the Safari Inn in a double and it's not too bad. 12,500 shillings for the two of us. I'm now at an internet cafe just taking care of last minute stuff.
