This was the day why I came to the States : Ed would teach me hanggliding.  We drove off in his shiny red Tunderbird with Prescott Valley as destination, a 3 hour trip. We made a stop at a Waffle house for - offcourse - a waffle.
At the place to be we waited for the wind.  Exactly : the most important part on a hanggliding day is waiting for the right wind.  A little breeze in a consant direction.
After the 3 hour wait, I finaly could look how they setted up a glider, and after 1 more hour, I finally was able to start with some 'running' lessons.
That's right : the first lesson is running like a idiot.  Running more quickly then your feet can carry you.  Once you get the glider on your shoulders, the glider will normally pick you up by that time.
At about 17u00 I get the change to go actual fly.  Purpose was to keep running, even if your feet can't feel the ground anymore.  Two accomplished pilots would hold on to the flyer, and the only thing should have to do is running.  I did actually flew, but I have no memmories of it.  The landing was not that cool since I landed on u knees.  It still hurts ;)
Since it is a 3 hour drive, Ed and I went to a Dennys to get a dinner.
