Driving from Philipsburg to Idaho falls took us a little longer then expected.  The only stop we made was in Anaconda for brunch.  'Homemade chocolate milk' with Hershey syrup was a disappointment, but the waitress was on the other hand so extremely friendly and helpful.  She gave me tips on how to make my 'biscuit' even more delicious.
Even when I thought that there was nothing to see in eastern Washington and North Idaho except for the grain fields, the trip from Montana to Idaho denied that.  Around the Palouse area at least the landscape is going up and down.  Here it was just 'flat'.  It is the high desert.

Jim told me a famous saying of the Montana weather : 'If you don't like the weather in Montana, wait 5 minutes'.  It's true : We've seen all kind of conditions the 36 hours we were in Montana : snow enough to create a snowman, beautiful sunset, rain more then an umbrella could cope with, hot short pants weather, cold nights,. We arrived in the evening of september 3 at 'the Preece Residence' and were welcomed with a delicious meal full of ingredients from their own vegetable garden. Joy proudly showed us the garden and presented her family (Arn and Amanda), including the three dogs and two cats.

Those people are living my dream-life (7 goats, 10 pigs, a couple of chickens, a veggie garden,...) but only they do really know how much work this represents. I was so fortunate to harvest the ingredients to prepare a succulent meal myself. Digging everything out of the garden, chopping it and cooking it on the same day. It was like paradise. The falls in Idaho Falls were nothing compared to that experience.
I admire those people to fulfill their dream and 'just do it'.

The bread at the Bread Harvest store was delicious.  At least something worthwhile remembering from the Idaho Falls downtown.
