Howdy all, and Merry Christmas. This is a very quick update, since we have 15 minutes free - literally - out of 6 full days of touring between 6 am to 8 pm daily.
We are in Bolivia and spending a night in La Paz, an amazingly animated city, after boating around Lake Titicaca for the last 2 days. We visited the floating islands of Uros, which proved to be a major high point of our travels so far, where we had our photos taken dressed up as Incas. One day we`ll post them on the blog. The lake is surrounded by snowy mountain peaks, as indeed is La Paz, and it is very cold up here for us poor NQ tourists! We met quite a few Aussies today, which proved to be a hit, but did nothing to help us mingle with the locals. But there`s still plenty of time left to do that.
The good news is that we seem to have successfully acclimatised to the altitude, at last. We are going to run up a steep hill in the morning just to prove it. Or not.
We head back to Peru tomorrow and on to the wonderful city of Cusco the following day. Hopefully the day after that we will have time to tell you more.
Best wishes to all, from Clare y Tony en America Latina.
