Hola amigos,
Two long days in the air and we are finally in Peru. So far everything has gone like clockwork, with all flights on schedule and all servies being rendered at the required times and places. Last night (Our Friday, your Saturday) we had to overnight in Santiago Chile, There we selected a very expensive dive of a place, complete with the body parts of previous guests still lying on the bathroom floor. But if you stepped carefully you could miss most of them, most of the time.
We were collected from our Santiago dive at 4 this morning, for our flight to Lima. We arrived at 9 am, where our transfer was waiting for us, and delivered us to a very nice and positively exclusive hotel (it even says `ëxclusive´on the door) that Tony´s friend and travel agent in Ica booked for us. Since then we have mostly been sleeping, and now that its 6 pm and we are walking around in bodies that think its 8am, we are ready to start the day. And so another day of jet lag is booked for tomorrow.
The next 3 days will be spent with Simon, Claudia and Bianca in Ica. They organised both of Tony´s trips to Peru, and have inexplicably chosen to be rewarded with our company for a few nights. We have a 4 hour bus ride along the coast to get there, and our stay in Ica will be our last chance to relax before the weeks of mountain climbing and canoe rowing really begin. We will also be flying over the Nazca Lines while we are in that part of the country.
A big hello to everyone back in the old country, and don´t forget you can write back to us by clicking some button somewhere on this page. It probably says `reply´ or something. You´ll know it when you see it.
Best wishes,
Tony y Clare.

bungendore to somewhere in peru!
Hola Tony and Clare, great to read your news and now I am able to comment back - fantastic idea. I can't imagine how you must feel Clare, remember every moment (almost impossible I know). I will try and ring as often as I can using my everso expensive gotalk card - if I can find you that is! Apparently I am the first to comment on this blog entry from Lima - very well put Tony - so descriptive, I could almost see the state of the hotel! Make the most of it I say. Bulga has had his head in the atlas over South America for some time now. Both of you have an ab fab time. Adios, Mum and Bulga

exciting
Hello Clare and Tony!
Wow, its so exciting what you are doing. I am glad everything worked out the right way for you so far. (except of the body parts...)
Jetlag is ugly, but you will get used to it.
As I haven`t wished you a good journey so far, I`ll do it now!
HAVE A GOOD, WONDERFUL and EXPERIENCE RICH JOURNEY ;-)
Europe just focuses on one thing these days. It is the European Mastership (football) which takes place in Austria and Switzerland. Austria lost the first match...but I didn`t expect something else...
Have a nice time and I am looking forward to read other entries of you
Best wishes
Elisa
