It was up and out to the sound again to do a canoe trip, but the rain was torrential so we decided to give it a miss. We then headed straight on to Queenstown. Once there we made our way to twelve mile delta, our campsite for the next few days.

We took a trip out to Arrowtown today after booking our Ski passes for tomorrow. It was an old gold mining town so in order to fund the rest of the trip, Sarah decided to hve a go at panning for gold. Alas we didn't strike it lucky, but we got to have a walk around the freezing cold chinese settlement there. It literally looks like a town out of the old wild west. We grabbed some freshly made chocolate from a store and made our way back to Queenstown to go up to the Skyline Gondola to get a view of the town

We got the bus to the Remarkables this morning to embark on our ski trip. We could have driven there ourselves but once you saw the road you realised this was not a safe place to be in a miniature bus. We got there, kitted ourselves out, and waited for our lesson. Turns out that Mr Richard Williams did a better job than we thought of him teaching us skiing as we were bumped up from the lower intermediate class to the upper intermediates. Good work Rich. We spent the day on the lower green slopes, me falling on my arse whilst stationary and forgetting how to turn in the afternoon. Sarah was just a natural, bombing down the slopes, dodging all the crazy snowboarders and making me look very very bad. We met with Beki and Matt on the slopes and afterwards joined them for a drink in the Pig and Whistle. It turned into a bit of a session and we didn't get to bed until 1am. This might not seem late but when in a campervan, as soon as it hits 8pm, its bed time.
