Our last day in Australia!!!!!!!!!
We decided to go to an Aussie Rules football game at the MCG for our last day. We wandered the streets of Melbourne in the morning. We also met up with Andrea Shemwell, a colleague who I used to work with at NU. It was bloody weird meeting her at Flinders street station. We went for a beer then went to the footy which to be honest was a it of a let down. We watched the game for about 2 hours, well we actually talked through the whole game catching up on what we'd all been doing and also the old gossip from back home. After the game we managed to get onto the MCG pitch where i managed to kick a ball about, and me and Andrea had our photo taken under a very familiar logo indeed. We took the tram out to St Kilda (nobody pays for the trams in melbourne so neither did we), where Andrea was staying, and she forcefully took Sarah into a shop
So Australia is at an end. Whas it been like?
Well we've met so many people, too many to mention except for Carol and Thomas, Beck and Paul, Leanne and Richie, Liv, Lucie and Roberta, Jo-Jo, Tom, Heather, catherine, god the list goes on and it would take too long to write out. We've saved whales, winnebago surfed, dove the barrier reef, swam with turtles, met relatives and boated up the swan river, drove the ocean road, spent new year in sydney, fractured a heel, been to the mcg, seen the blue mountains, spotted a live and wild koala, fed possums, drove a moke, sailed the sundays, 4x4 fraser and the rest. We've loved every minute of it all and its gonna be a shame to see the back of oz. We still have to come back to do the centre and tasmania, but thats another time. We won't miss the flies, most of the beer (its a let down), the strange money, the price changes compared to the lonely planet guide, the long bus journeys....Other than that its been an amazing trip. We wouldn't change it for anything.
