The last few days have seen us do a bit more of the touristy stuff.....

8th January 2005

Today we went down to the rocks market (the opposide side of circular quay from the opera house) to allow Martine to buy some more TAT. But before we did this it was off to the art gallery to see some cultural things. At the market Dom finally found his framed insect souvenir, i think he has plans for putting it in the bedroom but i doubt Martine will allow it. We went home to get ready for the night out. Due to the tsunami tragedy, Australia put together a telethon, broadcast live from the opera house. We bought 6 tickets for $25 each, which all of it went to charity. Inbetween the live broadcasting there were live acts on show ranging from Casey Chambers (sort of aussie country music star), Missy Higgins (if you haven't heard of her in the uk, then you will soon) and finally Jet! The place was packed and everyone was up having a dance and a sing song. I can't remember how much was raised but it was a small fortune for one nights work. After all it was for a good cause. It wasnt the concert at the opera house Dom and Martine were hoping to see, but at least they got some entertainment there.

10th January 2005

This evening we had drinks at the ROYAL YACHT CLUB, we were allowed in due to living 5km away from the place, so we could hob nob it with the upper class. It turned out to be the first race of the season so there was some prize giving. We had a few drinks and a bite to eat before we moved on to Darling harbour. Once there we took a few pictures of Dom and Martine by the waters edge, and then called it a night.

11th January 2005

We went up the skytower today. Views of all around the city, we could even see our house from there! It was a great clear day so we timed things right. Included in the entry was a "discovery" tour where we sat in rotaing chairs, watched some form of 3d show, then walked through a man made cave (more like bad plastering on the walls) before ending it with a ride on some moving chairs and video screens.
