. What do you expect from a country founded by criminals. We took this as an insult and purposfully sang the correct words at the top of our voices. We even had some strangers join us who had come over from the UK. We rocked the joint. It was then off to bed for some well deserved rest before xmas day.
On christmas day we got up and prepared our lunch. We had prawns, silver bream, beer soaked ribs, lime and chilli chicken, lots of wine and tooheys new beer, and a homemade mars bar cake. We also got a phonecall from the manchester 2 who were now at Dubai, asking my advice on what digital camera to buy. The afternoon was spent teaching poi to catherine and liz, with not much success, and the night was ended watching oliver on tv. We didnt get off to bed until 3am, and had to be up at 5am to get to the airport to meet Dom and Martine.
Christmas eve started at a stupidly early time of 4.30am for us. Catherine and Liz are coming around for a christmas BBQ so we decided to hit the fish markets early to get some fresh fish in. We got there just after 5am and the place was heaving. The counters were 5 deep with people buying the biggest fish I have ever seen and purchasing stupendous amounts of prawns. What got what we needed and headed back home, then it was off to town for a bit of christmas shopping. For christmas eve night we went down to Darling harbour for another carol concert with Catherine, Liz, and some of their housemates. Father Christmas joined the party by arriving by traditional method of Jet-Ski's holding a flare in his hands. The carols started as we were drinking in the HomeBar, but the pull of singing was too strong and before long we were with the crowds singing our heads off. The 12 days of christmas was a bit of a sore point. The aussies have their own worlds like "and a koala in a gum tree"
