Well this is going to be a quick one as we have to get ready to head off to Rapa Nui early tomorrow morning. It's hard to believe that we are leaving South America. It has been more wonderful than we could ever have imagined and we have had an amazing time here. The people, the food the countries themselves have all been magnificent and we will never forget our time here. Especially the amazing opportunity we had to go to Antarctica and to do the Inca Trail. There are many experiences we have had here which will always be with us.
But it's time to go and we both feel ready to head on to new places and adventures. 1/3 of our trip is over but so much is ahead of us. Now we are heading to the South Pacific for some island adventures, then on to New Zealand (check out www.spaceships.tv for the 'car' we have rented for 47 days to travel around there) and then on to Australia to meet some friends from Peru and some family and of course, to enjoy every minute of the trip. You wont hear from us for a couple of weeks as internet in the Pacific is slow and expensive but once we get to New Zealand we'll check in and let you know how we got on on our wee island paradises.
So sadly we saw 'Adios' to South America but so looking forward to our further travels. Thank you for following our travels so far and keeping us up to date with the craic from home. Your comments and e-mails mean so much to us and keep us in touch with home. We just hope the rest of the trip will be as wonderful, and as entertaining for you, as this part has been.
See you in New Zealand, about as far from home as we can get.....
PS. After writing this entry we had the pleasure of living (luckily) through our first earthquake. The epicentre was many miles to the south but we still got 30 seconds of good shaking going on and a couple of aftershocks. T thought this was great and was excited to experience it but Sara was less enthusiastic about the whole afair which, to be honest, is probably the better way to think about it. Anyway doesn't life always throw something up to enliven your day to make sure you don't get bored?
