Waking up early we stumbled into the 4X4 and promptly went to sleep - or at least tried to on the long drive back to the Bolivian border.  A sleeping bag was thrown on top of us as it was freezing but about 6 hours later we arrived at the border.

There we had breakfast and waited a couple of hours for the minibus back to San Pedro.  By the time we got back to our hostel we were completely wrecked.  T went into town to get food and water and to cancel the trip to the El Tatio geysers we had booked for tomorrow as it would mean another 3am wakeup call.  Sara hit the showers and then bed and when T got back he did likewise.  We both agreed we wouldn't do any more rough travel for a wee while.

That day and the next were spent mostly in bed sleeping, reading or eating.  It's so hot and dry here we have to sip water through the night but still wake up feeling like our throats are coated with sandpaper and we can barely open our mouths.  It is a lovely wee town though but we're looking forward to leaving the altitude and parched desert behind for a while.
