Unfortunately there are no good roads across the country so we had to take a bit of a detour before we could get to El Chalten. This meant a 19hr semi-cama bus journey to Rio Gallegos (about 1500km since you ask - we didn't get as much sleep as we would have liked but it wasn't as bad as it sounds) and a stop-over there. Our accommodation really put the "hoe" in hotel and was pretty basic and a bit shabby. But all was not lost as we discovered 'El Chino', an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet which included parilla and desert for the bargain price of 4 squid (they had that as well). We sat there for an hour and a half devouring everything in sight. T managed 2 mains (well 2 plates with 4 mains on each), 4 deserts and ended with a starter. Sara wasn't far behind. Everyone at home would love this place and we had bets on who would do the best. Fathers featured prominently, with a certain gym owning brother not far behind. A more fitting place for T's pre-birthday dinner could not have been found and we both agreed it was worth the 19hrs on the bus.
So I'm confused...Did you have to go catch the squid to eat at El Chino....lol. Honestly guys you've got to stop posting beautiful pictures with waterfalls and sun and then rubbing salt into the wound with stories of chineses. I'm sitting in the library at 9.30 am, I'm on a diet and it's raining. We're heading for a fallout!
