Pick up at 8 in a bus full of Japanese. Dive shop for picking up equipment. Drive to boat full of Japanese. One British couple and American dive guide: Kevin. It is a full boat and we feel a bit like the cattle. We are used to small boat and even smaller groups.
Sailing for 45 minutes. The British couple, Kevin and Dr T agree: the diving will not be great but it is all about getting wet. I must be missing something: do I pay 100$ to bet WET? On top of that: I do not feel so well. Have not for 2 weeks. I thought it was a head cold but Hubby says it must be an allergy. By now, I think he is right. It is so unpleasant to be sneezing up to 100 times a day. Have sinuses full of ants, itching noise, soar head and running eyes. Not to speak about the stuff coming out of my noise ... . But I deserted Tony already 2 weeks ago, so I kicked myself out of bed.
Dive spot, gear, water. I lose my mask. I find my mask. I lose a fin. I find my fin. Down sigh. Only I do not go down. I should at Kevin: 'an extra weight please' while thinking: 'why do I need an extra weight?'
If you think this is bad: listen to Dr T's dive: his regulator's mouth piece is broken, his spare regulator does not work, his BCD does not inflate, his mask does not equalize and he is underweight. F.... nothing of that equipment works! So: he has to HOLD his regulator in his mouth, equalize WITHOUT pinching his nose (I just cannot do that), put stones in his pocket (AND in mine) and inflate his BCD by blowing air into it with his mouth. Ever tried that at 30 meter? Brave man: I would have aborted the dive.
I see him struggling and in the mean time: I cannot stay down! With an extra weight! When I see Hubby collecting stones too, I know: the guy in the diving shop gave us 7 POUNDS not 7 KILOS. Our fault (we should know be able to feel the difference) but also his: he should know better. And why do I breathe so difficultly? Sure, we are both struggling, which is stressful, trying to stay down is hard work and there is current but still, ... . I forget about my own problems since I see Dr T has more.
And yes, I forgot to mention: it is the first dive with our new camera too.
This time, it is a relieve to be back on the surface. Poor Kevin sighs when he hears all issues.
All my problems are solved for the second dive. Dr T still has mask and BCD issues. But, at least we get to enjoy this dive. The coolest moment is when we see a ... submarine! No kidding! A commercial submarine. The people in THERE wave and make pictures of us while we make pictures of them: it is fun!
Only: our camera fogs on the inside of the housing: yup, one of these days. We had exactly the same thing the second dive with our first camera.
Diving finished, back to harbor, crappy lunch and a long wait for our pick up. We are brought straight to the hotel, so we cannot feedback the company about their very bad equipment. Should I send a mail?
So we do not recommend:

But check out:

Just saw it, do not know whether it is really that cool or what it costs.
In the late afternoon we go to the Micronesian Mall to watch the new Indiana Jones. I am thrilled. Tony thinks it is a bit silly. Of course it is. But also a lot of fun.
Do not tell anybody but afterwards we went to the Outback steakhouse, what part of this does not sound delicious?

All by all: a memorable day!
