For boat dives, the start is the latest 8h. When we are ready to leave, Dr T does not find the camera! We look everywhere: no camera. We do not remember when we last used it. Yesterday at noon? Evening? Not after diving? I go to warn Wayan and Arie that we are late and check the restaurant, where they did not find a camera. I panic and even Hubby gets a bit nervous. Think, think. You know how it goes: going over the same places, over and over again, with less hope as the time passes. You are clever and see that pictures are attached so, we did find it back. We took it to the restaurant, yesterday at noon to copy the pictures on the laptop and the camera ended up in a little side pocket of the backpack. Arie and Wayan are relieved to see us showing up with camera.
We arrive at the beach 20 minutes late to find ... the boat you already saw a picture off, yesterday. WHAT? This boat? You are kidding! They are not. This is not a boat, this is a, a euh huge crab! How do you get in there? And out of the water? And most of all: back into the boat??? Hey, Arie? There is a lather. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Wait and see. It IS local color: the boat is pushed of the beach, the captain peddles 50 meters and then puts on the engine. I met many butts already, which would NOT fit in this boat. The today's dive site is called Kubu and is only 10 minutes away.
Getting into the water: put on your fins, WEIGH TBELT, mask and jump to your waiting BCD. Do not miss it: you would sink like a stone, with the weight belt!  Then: get INTO that BCD. In the water. Thank God for our 300something dives and been-there-done-that feeling. This is NOT for beginners!
The dive is introduced to us as: lots of different corals. Since we are not coral people, we frown a bit. But indeed: the dive is great and we do admire the corals. Arie finds a PREGNANT pigment sea horse. And hubby manages to take a clear picture!!! They DO exist. And a yellow leaf fish.
Then comes the moment of the entry to the boat. Lather is lowered. Or not. It has 3 steps and hangs no deeper than the boat. Arie jumps on the boat like a monkey, weight belt on and everything. We take of our gear in the water I put my legs on the lather, which already is a challenge: that is how high the lowest step is and have to pull myself on to the boat. My operated knee has no strength yet. My other knee got lazy from the lack of exercise the months prior to my operation. I have to pull myself up, on the muscles of my arms. From a bumpy sea. Into a bumpy boat. Which does not work the first time. Tony says: 'just relax and try again'. But I can already see, with the eye of my imagination: me not being able to get back into the boat and then, and then: I have to swim to shore, I have to stay there forever, you can picture it. But, indeed, the 2nd time, with a little push of T and a little pull of Arie: I am in!
We go back to the hotel for our surface interval and leave again 1,5 hours later. Same boat. Almost same spot.  A very cute nudibranch wants to crawl onto to Tony's hand. A little fishy (do not know the name, shame on me) bites my nose! Then it goes and plays with Dr T. I find Nemo again. Although almost the same spot, the dive is different. This time, I get out in 1 hit.
Our same restaurant in the evening. A Californian couple starts talking to us: weird people but they have the info we are after: they dove in Micronesia. On top of that: they leave tomorrow to Mimpies in the North West of Bali. Mimpies has 3 resorts on the island of which one down the street. Since we only have 2 nights left here, this might be an option. We play cards. I loose. L
Coming home: the Tomcat's flip flops brake! He IS sad: it is the nice pair with build in bottle opener.
For tomorrow we do have a chauffeured car. Pick up at 9 for ? Side seeing above the water!
