I get really sick at night. High fever. Aches everywhere. Tony calls the doctor in the morning. The symptoms of flu are equal to those of malaria and the doctor gives him no choice: 'Emergency, immediately'. I am very reluctant. Hubby does not take no for an answer and off we go. Mum joins us.

What I expected to be an hour of checking in and taking blood takes the whole day: they keep me in observation till 17h! All kinds of test are done, even an x-ray of my lungs. I get fluid and antibiotics dripped into my veins. Blood pressure and temperature are checked every hour. My doctor is a very nice Indian girl but I want to get OUT. Since I get better, their conclusion is: it is PROBABLY not malaria. I cannot help thinking, I could have been in bed at home and come to the same conclusion.

In the end, I am sent home, with heavy antibiotics and advise of 3 days complete rest.

Get well :-)
Bad luck about not feeling well, but it is better to be safe than sorry. I know it is a pain to stay in hospital and be so uncomfortable, but if it had been malaria then it's better to find out quickly.

Lucky you are here with our hospitals too.

I hope you are feeling better soon Marina,
Love Mic
