We have several reasons to come home:
Greta needs an operation and we are going to take care of her the first weeks after My passport expires in less than 6 months My knee still did not recuperate from the diving accident in Nosy Be. I want a Belgian hospital I left you on our way to Witbank. Tony was driving down a hill, where the speed changed from 120 to 80 and, you guess it, the police was there! T had to step out of the car. The policeman showed him: he was driving 106 and the fine for that was: 50 Euro. Dr T plainly said: 'no, that is too much'. To a policeman!!! Ok, he settled for 25 Euro. No receipt. We could not stop laughing afterwards. 'This is too much' to a policeman: really! The hotel was a hotel and we delivered the car the next day in the airport to go HOME. The girls flew Air France 1,5 month ago and were very happy. Since they are very experienced travelers, we were expected something nice. I really disliked the flight. We were squeezed at the window, a lady was sitting at the aisle. The staff spoke almost no English. I do not know how come, but I always end up with the most cranky air hostesses. The after-meno-pauze, no-smile one's. And I really do not think it is me. 'Could I please have a beer, Madame', with a smile. Whatever I asked that woman, the answer was 'after'. After what? I asked 4 (four) times for a glass of water before I got it. Or better: a mini plastic glass barely half full: 2 sips. The lady next to me was asleep, otherwise I just walk to 'their office' and ask for what I want. We arrived in Paris on time and my Tomcat had neither sweater nor long pants. He was walking around in the freezing cold in his light blue shorts. A lot of staring ... . The party began stepping out of Brussels-Midi: there was Annie with the champagne. Life was good as soon as we got into her brand new fancy Merc. Home: the kitties! Junior, my Junior. I love him so! Remember Jr, who crawled into my handbag, last year September, in the Nostalgem and I accidently took him home? Well, he did not remember us. He got used to Tony soon. But he was surprised that those strange people kept on hugging him. A bit suspicious even. Saturday noon, we took our dear friends: Wes, Ageeth and Michael to the golf club for lunch, while Greta and Ann were playing golf. We had a quiet weekend at home, since Greta had to go to hospital on Tuesday for her operation. On Monday my friend Jo calls me from Vilvoorde and drops by for lunch. He looks like a million dollars as always, is happy with his new girlfriend Melanie but has the sad news that his sister suddenly died 2 days ago: 44 years old. It does make you think ... . Talking about transport, Jo offers us his car, since he has a company car now. Help comes when you least expect it and sometimes from unexpected sides. Jo picks up Dr T in the evening after work, takes him to Eke, where he picks up the car and we have wheels to visit Greta the Tuesday in hospital. T was still in his shorts and I am surprised they did not lock him up in the psychiatric part of the hospital. Greta (better known as Broekske) was awake but in pain. Wednesday, we bought pants for Dr T and a new mobile. And visited Broekske, who was still not really a happy puppy. Thursday we went to the holiday fair in Brussels. More to visit my friend Plas, who had a stand there, then for the fair. We picked Broekske up from the hospital on Friday and had a celebration weekend, again. During that week, I also requested a new passport: 3 weeks patience and 75,5 Euro: WHAT? AND: started the process for my knee: GP, echo and reference to an orthopedist.
