Moving WITHIN the Seychelles
We are ready 20 minutes early, Debra (like zebra ...) is 20 minutes late. Dr T finds a little spider, the same as in Cape Tribulation in East Australia (remember girls?)
We learn that a motor of one of the diving boats is stolen last night. Poor Glynis: this must suck, certainly in a country like this! Big goodbyes.
In the new resort, we are 'greeted' by the same chick, whom we saw a couple of days ago, when we dropped in to ask for a double bed. Like then, NO smile. Believe me, we are nice people but none of our smiles are returned nor is a friendly word coming over her lips. How do those people get to a job like this???
But: I loooooove our 'room'.
Today, we go back to Victoria first. I post my package, we go to Air France, since they need your passport to write out the tickets. And have brunch in 'our' pub. The bad news: it still does not work to withdraw money. After several attempts, we manage, anyway: a relieve!
No: some shopping. Forget it. It is Saturday and everything closes at noon. The biggest supermarket on the island is in Victoria. The funny thing is: they do not have more choice, the just have more of the same. 400 cans of corned beef instead of 8. I was hoping for some body lotion, conditioner, ... .But, it is closed. Up to the Northern part of the island.
We find our little diving spot: l'îlot. And more beaches.
Then, we visit the Botanical Gardens. We have to see the 'coco de mer'. They have a female and a male tree, resemble the female and male parts. You can buy them everywhere and they are very euh, similar to female and male parts. But, in real, they are just a huge palm tree. The nuts can weigh 18kg. but I do not see the shape which we see everywhere: in tourist shops, around people's necks (in small gold, not THE nuts), ... .
When, on top of that, it starts pouring, we leave, a bit disappointed.
Since our kitchenette is in fact a kitchen, we go shopping and home.
You can see our swimming pool in the rain! On the arch over our bedroom, there is a coco de mer. We also have a cozy sitting room. Where we watch our last 'Midsomer Murder'.
