We get up when we get up, I make brunch and it is almost 11h when we leave. I do not have a beach day, so we decide to start in Willemstad, the capital of Curaçao.

We leave in our fancy car:  An ancient Suzuki Samurai. No ABS or any of the other safe gadgets, no trunk, no airco, no nothing. But he is so cute!

Curaçao is not what I expected. To start with it is so Dutch! It is a mixture of 3rd and 1st world country. I thought it would be richer, more developed. The neighbors of our hotel live in a ... garage. The locals are still very poor. Lots of the streets are not asphalted yet, no pavements. They are just doing the streets and pavements in Willemstad now. Heineken everywhere. We stroll and stroll, sniffing the city.  We try and try and try and do not manage to buy a newspaper for Dr T!!!

The view from the terrace is very nice. This is typical for Willemstad: the multicolored houses.

They also have a floating bridge: it is held up by what looks like boats. It opens up when real boats have to get through.

I get another charm for my Pandora: a turtle. It is the symbol of our dive nr. 200 together tomorrow! We spend a lovely afternoon in the city and go shopping to Albert Heijn afterwards.

We are home late and make chicken for dinner. We decide we have to plan for the rest of our holidays till Belgium. We have to be in Belgium the 14th of September because my best friend is getting married, did you know that? We want to be there around the 20th of August. Greta and Ann, in whose place we are staying (now you know, girls) leave the 19th on holiday and we would like to take care of the kitties.  So I go to bed early and leave Tony with the difficult task: find us places to stay till we go back. I would like to go to Bonaire and Aruba before heading back.

Alarm clock at 07h30, pick-up at 8 for diving.
