But first I call my best friend, Springmuis. It is great to gossip and giggle with her for half an hour. I miss her so!
OK, where are we going: to the Cayman Islands:
Our plan is to 'island hop' in the Caribbean. Starting at the west and work our way through them.
What can be so hard about booking that, you ask? Well:
1 airline is flying from Roatan to Gran Cayman. You have to FIND those guys first. Then: the website is in Spanish. We already know: do not go down there, it will not work. Hubby calls. After about 20 minutes on the phone (carefully spelling out our names) the guy says you cannot book over the phone. We have to GO to the airport. After 20 minutes, no kidding, how stupid can you get? My wonderful, wonderful hubby manages to say: 'OK, then, thank you for your help, have a nice day.' We get ready to go to the airport when Dr T comes to the idea: let's ask reception if there is an agency in town, which can book flights. Everybody knows us here by now. And: our friendly receptionist says: 'No, problem, I will book your flight.' Saved us 30 bucks and a lot of time. Hotel: Dr T found the almost ideal place: all inclusive (also the diving) for a more or less reasonable price. That is the biggest problem: the Caymans are horribly expensive. And we have to stay for a while. Till my bites are gone! He calls: fully booked. Next! Fully booked. Dr T asks how come. It is a long weekend for the (British) queen. But then he does find something nice. They still have a bedroom suite available. AND it is on the main island. AND in the middle of the hotel stretch. AND has a beach and swimming pools. Booked!
So, we are leaving on Friday (5 in the morning, feel sorry for us now?), booked for 6 nights.
We go for our favorite Argentinean restaurant which is ... closed. We choose another one, play some cards (I lost: HELP), have a snack and come back home. I GRAB the laptop and read my news. We both have an early night. Tomorrow: rise and shine for our last dive: my number 200. Only 1 dive: there has to be 18 hours between diving and flying.
