Dr T surfed the net, last night, while I chatted. No success on 'what to do in Puerto Barrios'. Livingston is a fisher village, 10 minutes boat ride from here, which looks very nice. We stopped by yesterday on our way here. Everybody got out but us. We are stubborn. So, we decide to go back to the harbor and inquire for a ferry tomorrow morning to go to Livingston for a day. First: food. This time Tony wins; the local KFC.

We go back to our 'Uiver' afterwards, where they tell us they are closed. It is only 20h and indeed: this town is going to sleep! Taxi to Puerto then. Nobody speak any, any English and I am very frustrated by my (lack of) Spanish.

Back at the harbor: everything is closed here too! No choice but going to the room. We are happy we stuck to our principal: A/C! since I used the laptop in the afternoon, it is now Dr T's turn. He keeps on talking about a second laptop but I am not doing it unless I get those rollerblades of my back!

I have a Stephan King, so I can keep busy (finally got through Garcia's 'Love in the time of cholera'. Did anybody read this? What do you think?).

The A/C turns off at 7 in the morning. No power. At 07h30 (which is now) it is very hot in the room. I already took a shower. Or what they call a shower here. We ask for A/C but forgot to ask for ... hot water. And indeed: no hot water!!! No toilet seat either. Not that you need hot water. A couple of day ago, I smelled sour. Like old sweat, the smell that comes from homeless people, sometimes, from meters away. I was shocked! Ever since, I shower more and wash the clothes more. 3 showers a day and t-shirt and underwear changed whenever they get wet. And that is all the time. The problem is that we do not have special 'back packer's clothes'. Those special clothes dry in a couple of hours. Ours sometimes do are not dry the next morning. So if you change hotels all the time, it is difficult.

Hubby is alive (NOT kicking) and we go and look for a ferry to Livingston now.

Tomorrow, we go to Honduras and we know what we are going to do there: diving!

Will we be able to book a hotel? Should we take a 20$ one again? Will we GET to the island? You will read it in the next episode of:  Dr T and M: the tour.
