We decide to go direction coast, Cocoa Beach and do 'nothing' for a day or so. My frustration is: I cannot find any internet cafe!!!!! And I want to chat to you guys! In the evening we walk to a beach restaurant and have a long lazy meal with excellent wine: life is good. I say 'walking' because in the States this is unusual. One takes (and needs) the car for everything. People do not walk here.
We are still tired early and up before the sun. This will not last! The next day we visit Kennedy Space Center, a whole loooong day of 10 hours: TEN HOURS. The engineer in my husband is awake and wants to see everything. It IS impressive. Even I am proud of those Americans. Although: they ARE very frustrated the Russians made it in space before them :-)
Notice: my boyfriend became my husband. The Americans get all confused if you are not married. They ask you why or assume you are not a 'real' couple. We slip in to the 'husband-wife' thing easily when surrounded by Americans. Since our hotel is so well located we can walk to a resto again. Italian this time, where the Chablis is not a Chablis, the spaghetti with meatballs do not have meatballs and the salad is forgotten. Well, saves us on tips. DO NOT MENTION THE WAR, UH, THE TIPS. With Ann, my American girlfriend, this was an Issue. In the States the tip is not included and your tip should be adjusted to the quality of the service. I approve. In Europe, you tip 15 percent, whether you like it or not. Here you can choose; between 0 and 25.
I have to go, my husband wants to buy his laptop. So, we are in bed in Cocoa Beach and heading South tomorrow to ... an internet cafe, where I typed for 3 hours. Also because I 'lost' my first mail: veeeeeeeery grumpy!
