Great Day on the train - even got a free hot meal at lunchtime. Decided not to partake of smoked fish sold by vendors on the platform. Great scenery - even though it didn't change much for 500 miles! Loos really amazing - to flush just press the pedal and the base opens up and it drops onto the track! and a cold blast of air fill the room - this is also a good way of judging how cold it is outside by the amount of steam you can create.
Slept well.
25th Feb
Heard England beat France (6 Nations). Went to the restaurant car in the afternoon for coffee - then back later with Gemma and Daniel for Champagne and Borcsh as you do!
Time seems to be going very quickly.
26th Feb
Last full day on this train before arriving at Irkutsk. Tony has new friends - his Nintendo DS scrabble partners and people in Hotel Dusk - he is even talking to them - I wonder if he is getting bored with me!!!! Phoned home after Clare's eye op - all OK.
Bed early as we leave the train at 4 am ish...... This is after the 56th time of checking the time, keeping track of UK (home time), Moscow (train time) and Irkutsk (Local time) is getting too much!
