We left Marietta around 9:30.  If you are ever there, make sure you stay at the Hampton.  Doug Reese, the Guest Services Manager, is a sweetie and lets us park our trikes under the canopy.  Not only that, their breakfast is diverse and good.
It's now 2:50, so it gives you an idea of how long it took us to come the 215 miles.  Stopping for me to stretch is a pain but otherwise I'm sure I wouldn't be able to even move.  The mountains in W.Va are superb.  Already seeing some color there also.  I don't think people who are waiting till the 2nd weekend in Oct. are going to have much to see.  Once we crossed into Va. the rolling hills with their valleys were breathtaking.  Don't the say that Va. is for lovers?  Or is that W.Va?
We arrived in Wytheville without any mishaps until we were unloading the trikes - the bottle of Johnny Walker met its demise - without being opened!!!  HORRORS.  AND IT'S SUNDAY!!  We're due in Asheville, N.C. tomorrow, so I know what we'll be looking for.
We just returned from dinner.  As you can see from the pictures, we had quite a selection at the Travel Center aka truck stop.  Larry and I had creamed chip beef over rye bread with 2 fried eggs, Kev had the buffet bar which had homemade meatloaf, and Sandy had her fried shrimp and fries.  The food was quite good and the restaurant clean.  We weren't allowed to sit with the "professional truck drivers" :(
Tomorrow we hit the Blue Ridge Parkway and Asheville.
