Sorry its been awhile but being on my own now means that internet is hard to come by. I have already been to New York and i am currently in Wilmington, North Carolina...aka Dawson's Creek/One Tree Hill land. Anyway, just wanted to give you an idea of waht i got up to in New York. I had 3 nights in the Wellington Hotel. It was a nice hotel, the room was small but as it was just me i didn't have any worries. It was nice i thought, plus the view was incredible when i leaned out my window as i was on the 7th ave street that goes up and down manhattan not across i could see Times Square on the left and Central Park on the right. I was 2 blocks from Central Park so all i could see was trees but honestly i knew what i was looking at and what it contained so it was truly awesome to have that right outside my window.

It started raining when i got in there. The camp got a yellow school bus for all the counselors going to NYC so i got a free ride in which was good. So i got in at 2pm, checked in at the hotel and then set about seeing the city. America doesn't get dark until 8-8.30pm so i had heaps of time which was cool. But as i said it was starting to get dark and eventually started spitting as i walked along Central Park West, so i decided to go to the Museum of Natural History, aka museum used on Night of the Museum. So as i walked to it i saw the apartment from 3 men and a baby which was cool. Then i got to the museum which was packed even though there was only 2 hours left till closing. Now i had visions of what museum this was going to be like and it really just blew me away when i actually saw it myself. The detail in all the exhibits was phenomenal. When you see the pictures you will die. I have never seen anything close to this, whether it exists in Australia i don't know, but it was truly fantastic to see all these animal exhibits from Gorillas to Lions to the herd of Elephants that are above you in the middle of the room. It was awesome. There were other exhibits like birds, Indians, Asia, India and even Aborigines in Australia which was cool to see. But it was the dinosaurs that blew mw away...there is a full made T-Rex on display which was just freaky to see one all made up like that, but it was so awesome you couldn't believe it. Hopefully the pictures speak for themselves.
Anyway, i couldn't see eveything but i saw 3/4 of it in 2 hours so i was impressed with myself. And it was only $15 so bargain!! That night i went into Times Square as it was getting dark. My hotel was on 55th and Times Square was 49 onwards, so that's how close i was. So it was brillant to see everything all lit up like it was. It was a unforgettable sight let me tell you. So yes mum i went out at night until about 11pm but you need not worry because all the way up from Hotel to Times Square had tourists everywhere, and New Yorkers too. So i couldn't resist. I only had 3 nights in there too so it was now or never right. But i wouldn't have gone there if people weren't around so i'm a common sense person as you all know.
I had my first seinfeld moment too on the first night by eating a black and white cookie as featured in a classic episode so all you seinfeld fans will know what i'm talking was yum!
The next day i rode the subway to Queens to see the first lot of movie locations i wanted to...Third Watch. It didn't disappoint. I saw the Firehouse and the Cop station which are across the street from each other as fans of the show would know. But thw only bad thing was that the thunder that was going on when i was there was so loud, i knew a storm was coming. I could see NYC from where i was and it was black with storm clouds. Really scary. But i quickly took some pictures and set to go back to the station which was 30 mins from where i was but it started pelting with rain so hardcore in seconds, noone had time to do anything but hide under shelter. It didn't let up after 15mins so i ended up getting a taxi which was only $7 so cheap enough and it got me out of the rain.
I got back into NYC into Grand Central Station, which was a pleasant surprise. It was a truly beautiful peace of architecture and looked more so than i ever thought it would when i finally saw it. I just walked around it in awe of how surreal it was to be there after seeing it on tv and movies so much. It was stunning, and i'm so glad i got to go there.
After that the rain had stopped and you would never have known it rained at all, i went to 3rd ave and 48th and walked across the street Matt Damon does in the Bourne supremacy ending. It was again surreal to be standing there since i love Matt Damon more than any other actor to stand where he has was so awesome to me, i know everyone is saying how stupid but that's what i came to NYC to do so i don't care how stupid it is...i loved every minute of that street, and Kirsty from scotlnad from camp even went to the street today too to remember me and my movie stuff, so she did it too!!!
I then found myself at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel again from Serendipity and went inside since i always loved that movie and wanted to see how it looked, and it was so nice let me tell you. Even though i only saw the lobby it was stunning and i'd love to stay there next time i go to NYC. It was beautiful, so i took that all in for awhile and then went back out but it again started raining like pelting down again in a matter of minutes so i and eveyone else had to hide under whatever store front or hotel front we could find. It finally let up and i went into Toys r Us which has a ferris wheel in it!!!! then walked past empire state building and chrysler building again and took pictures, so that was neat.
I then went into the NYC public library which was another stunning building, plus it was used in the sex and the city movie so hoe could i not huh. So i just sat there for awhile and took it all in then went to Bryant park next door where Carrie hits Big with the flowers after they don't get married in the movie, so it was fantastic to stand where all of that happened.
After all that, i walked back to my hotel and what do you know i saw the place where David Letterman gets filed, because the sign was all lit up i couldn't miss it, so it was cool to see that. I had dinner, and then  went on a night bus tour which went from Times Square into Brooklyn and back. It was really nice to see the city afar all lit up. I will never forget it, plus Empire state building and all that like i'd never seen it before. It was awesome just mind blowing to take it all in.
I then walked to Rockefeller Center and that was really nice to see that in the flesh all lit up. It was such a big building i could hardly take a picture of it, i had to stand on the side of the opposite street. but it was so pretty, amd the fountain changed colour so that was nice. I then went to m&ms world which was unbelievable you have to see it all to believe what was in there.
The next day i woke up and saw locations from the sex and the city movie, then i did the tour which went for 4 hours almost, but we got a muffin with heaps of icing like they had in the show, and had a cosmopolitan in steve's bar (the bar they actually used in the show) so that was awesome too!!! I loved it. I sat next to an aussie girl from Sydney doing contiki so it was nice to speak with someone from home.
There was filming in the city, don't know what though but it was cool to see that, and glass was falling off a skyscapper so police and news crews were everywhere so it was cool to see all of that. I took pictures :)
I then saw Madison Square Garden, i didn't have time for the tour but just to see it was awesome. And then i saw the friends building which was totally cool, as well as Washin gton Square Park and Heath Ledger's apartment. I went up the Empire State building which took an hour to get up cos of the line but it was so worth it. I went in when it was light outside and then it was dark and eveything around me lit up like christmas. It was something to see. I will never forget it. It was totally beautiful. Everyone should do it.
Then next morning i saw a few more locations like the Cocktail bar, lincoln center, trump tower, columbia university where spiderman 1 uses it before he gets bitten by the spider and of course the seinfeld restaurant. It was unreal. Then  i took the shuttle to go to the airport at 12pm. So it was an awesome few days i saw eveything i wanted to see and more so it was brillant...hope it was interesting to read.
Well, gotta go time is money on the internet these days.
Love to all, counting down to seeing you mum!!!

Love, Toni xoxo
