Where I stayed
The Wild Rover
we have done some other exciting things as well!!! we road pushbikes down the worlds most dangerous road - pretty scary with a very very steep drop on one side and crosses marking where trucks, cars and other bikers had come off. we visited san pedro prison - its a vey surreal experience like a little village with barbers, restaurants and murderers all rolled into one! we also did some dirt biking up into the hills, probably the catalyst for the next months adventure.
the computers are very slow but we ll add more photos as soon as possible!! dunno when we ll next be in touch....but surely you re used to that by now!!!
ok sorry everyone, i know we ve been very slack in doing the blog but for the last month we have been here in la paz. i would never have believed we would have stayed for so long but we had become completely nocturnal and regressed to our student days. have met some amazingly lovely people, people we would call friends which is difficult to do being constantly on the road. but its time to move on now. we have spent quite a lot of time trying to sort out buying 2 motorbikes. its quite difficult for gringos to do especially if we wanted to take the bikes out of la paz. then we had to make sure the bikes werent nicked, they werent about to blow up, the paperwork was intact and the soliciter who signed them over to us wasnt as bent as the seller. hopefully its all ok and we are now the proud owners of two honda 250cc dirt bikes. sourcing and buying camping gear was next on the list - inbetween fancy dress partys and wild poker nights at the hostal (i beat a mathmatician - how proud!). but we are finally there and about to leave tomorrow to tour round bolivia!
