Another cold, wet day. We drove to Llamberis and the Snowdon Mountains train, which was very popular. We were able to get tickets for the 11:30 ascent. We couldn't go all the way up and the weather forecast was misty at the top. The train takes nearly an hour, travelling at 5 miles per hour, to reach the destination. The scenery was spectacular, in between intermittent showers. There were plenty of people walking to the top, some in shorts! We got out and spent about 2 minutes looking around before the mist came in bringing with it heavy rain. We raced back to the train and stayed inside until it returned to the base, the mist clearing at lower altitudes. Some of the passengers on the ascent had bought single tickets so they could walk down; in the cold and rain.
We returned to the B&B via Betsw-y-Coed, a place we have visited on previous trips.
