We had a bit of a sleep in this morning with Madi getting up well after 11:00am, but it was a bit of a cold and misty rainy day so we didn't have anything too drastic planned. We did get out of the house to head to Frys Electronics to pick up a few things for our little netbook. I have no idea how to describe Frys except getting you to think of a Bunnings Warehouse and fill it up with Electrical gear. Computers (and every conceivable component possible), TV's, HD Data projectors, just to name a few. Seriously though, we were in a bit of a rush today as we had to pick up Hudson from school, but I will be back there and spending a lot of time (and possibly money) going through the rest of the place.
We just relaxed after picking up Hudson and had a FANTASTIC home cooked meal before getting ready for our first sporting event for the holidays. Unfortunately for Jeff, he had to head to Washington and missed tonights game, however, Brodie, Hudson, Monique and I headed off to the United Center to watch the Chicago Blackhawks take on the St Louis Blues at Ice Hockey
On the way, we hit a Toll road that only had 3 lanes, 2 of them were E-tags and the other was coins only. Well, I only had notes and so there I was stuck in the lane when a car pulled up behind me. So I thought that I would jump out and see if the guy had some change. Luckily he did and gave it too me, but i think he was very worried when he saw someone getting out of the car in front and walking up to his car. He was very helpful though and we got through. Funnily enough, when I was walking back to my car, I looked on the ground and there must have been about $3.00 worth of change just lying there. Oh well, I'll know better next time.
I had never been to a NHL game before and so I was really looking forward to it. Well it was AWESOME, I am converted. The crowd got into it as the Blackhawks are looking to finish the season on top of the Western conference. The game was very exciting and finished up with the Blackhawks winning 6 to 5. There was plenty of fights in the game which kept the crowd and certainly me invoved. You just know when the fights are starting when the gloves start flying around the rink AND, unlike the Aussie Rules, when a fight starts, the cameras zoom on in and show it up on the scoreboard.
Not sure what is on the agenda for tomorrow, but tomorrow night it is the Chicago Bulls V Cleveland Cavaliers, again at the United Center, so between now and then, they have to replace the ice rink with the basketball court. Should be a lot of fun again though.
