Time for some real Greek Island action - We caught the Ferry over and had 5 hours to spend on the island. 8 of us hired a car and 2 scooters. We would have had only scooters but the hire places wouldn't accept an Australian drivers license. I was gutted!!! so much so that I wrote a song - The Samos blues (The 1st verse is in honour of the buffet meal the previous day which managed to go through most of us in about 30 minutes):
We've just got to Samos
There's no buffett in sight
How the hell we supposed eat, and shit our guts out through the night
I ain't got a license
And I just heard the news
I can't get a scooter
Got the Samos Blues
I finally got some transport
Biut it aint got no fuel
Can't find the petrol station
I Got the Samos Blues
We've got a crazy driver
She's going way to fast
She's gonna get us killed
I Got the Samos Blues
The boys are on the scooters
Warrick's always at the back
Sarah's clinging on to reveal her plumbers crack
I got in the ocean
And my testicles disappeared
I don't think they're coming back
I Got the Samos Blues
And now it's time for leaving
And I've just had the best day
I Don't want to leave
I Got the Samos Blues

Couldn't hire a scooter, but at least I could pose
Samos was fantastic - nothing particular to see, but Gorgeous. Great weather, Great Food, Great people. We had lunch in Pythagoras' birthplace then spent the afternoon on a quiet Aegan beach and got some Sun... Have I mentioned how brown I am right now?

View of the port city - nice!
We sadly bade farewell to Samos and headed back to Kusadasi. Before we got to the Hotel, Genghis thought it might be a good idea to visit his mates leather jacket shop. There was something wrong with the buses suspension and us poor kids in the back got airborne quite a few times. It was probably lucky we didn't crash. After 3 hours at the leather shop (about 10pm at night) without any dinner, most of us were really pissed off. Added the bus problem, this understandibly pissed off my other room-mate Chris. He had a few words to Genghis, but all he got back was 'not my problem' and an aggressive attitude which would esclate over the next day.
The whole leather jacket fiasco put a dampener on what was an otherwise brilliant day.
