Small provincial city in the UK hosting a little pearl;-)
The first bridge in the world built from iron (in 1779) is located here - it is a symbol of the British 18th century industrial revolution.
The bridge was great. Unfortunately, I had one of the most stupid adventures ever. I had a tiny Toyota Yaris rented from Hertz for this trip. When I arrived in the tiny city of Ironbridge it was very difficult to park. Finally I found a tiiny spot on a one way street going very steeply upwards. I stopped the car firmly pulled a handbrake and just to be sure tha the car will not go down the steep street I left it on a gear and strongly turned the wheels against the right side curb (one learns this shit when reading driving license exam manuals in US...)
What happened is the steering wheel got into a blocked position and I did not know at that time the trick to start the car at the same time and firmly release the steering wheel. The situation was even more difficult because of steepness of the place - I had hardly any possibilities to start a car, because it would just easily go down if I released the gear... After 20 minutes of fighting with the blocked wheel (did not manage to get it released) I called Hertz and they sent a serviceman.. I had to wait for one hour just to see him releasing the blocked wheel in less than 2 minutes.. Quite embarrasing;-))
