The Big City!!

We arrived in the capital city of Namibia, Windhoek in the evening. We located the Chameleon Backpackers, dropped off our bags and went to a movie at the mall. Watching "Superbad" brought us right back to the poo, poo humor of the US. We laughed until we cried. It was a nice break after a month in the bush. We were able to get in touch with Beth's friend Nani the next day and had a nice long evening visit that night after work. By that time we had moved to Beth's old haunt "The Cardboard Box Backpackers". The atmosphere was much more inviting and it was nice for Beth to get back. Nani invited us to her daughter's first grade graduation the following night. Beth held Ndepewa (Nani's daughter) when she was first born. It was strange to see her at 7 yrs! It was great to catch up. During the days, we walked around town and visited some parks and museums. Our last night, we ate at Joe's Beer House. This place is like a hidden hideaway that when you enter it, you can get lost in the "inside" trees. We stuffed ourselves with wild game and then sat by the after dinner bonfire and enjoyed a beer under the stars.
