We arrived here without much hassle at the border.  They hit us for every tax imaginable...but it didn't convert to very much and we were able to find a use for our Botswanan Pula ($).  Driving in from the border was very lonely.  There must have only been three vehicles on the road besides us.  We've heard that there's a major gas shortage here...luckily we filled up before we crossed the border and only went through a quarter tank on the way here.  The streets in town are very quiet compared to what Beth had seen eight years ago.  Imagine South Beach deserted and that is what this town has become....We are relaxing at the backpackers for the rest of today and tonight.  Tomorrow, we're going to hike around the park and see the falls in the morning.  In the afternoon, we want to get tea and crumpets at the Victoria Falls Hotel.  Our big splurge this trip, for our second honeymoon.  Hopefully we will see more hippos on a boat cruise at sunset.
Maybe Erik will be convinced to try some Mupani worms for dinner tonight...  :)

Hey there !
Hi you two ! Glad to hear all is well, and youre enjoying your site seeing. It sounds amazing. I read teh comment about the worms and I think that just killed my lunch .. didnt know they had fear factor there ! Hope Eric wins the $50 grand ! lol .. Pictures wouldve been cool to see but guess I ll see tehm when ya get back and email me an album. You aint missing much here in Miami, same stuff different day. I got my Toyota Tundra and boy oh boy this truck rocks ! Its got so much more power then the Ford its amazing. Had an airbag light on 2 days after getting it & brought it back to the dealer and it was only a discnected wire under drivers seat. Anyways its been windy as can be since you both left and have yet to open the rentals Oct was a horrible business month.. we have a tropical depression #16 I think forming near Cuba which I pray to god isnt going to be upgraded to a hurricane Warning by this shakey scared city of miami beach cause that will cost me a fortune to have the shacks removed off the beach. I ll be watching and tracking the weather closely. Well you two have a great time, drive safe, dont eat worms and stay warm and most of all ..HAVE FUN !

Happy Halloween from the USA!
Hi, My Sweets!
I am so happy that both of you can enjoy such an extraordinary trip, a trip of a lifetime. These are experiences no one can take away from you. What memories!
The amber and crimson leaves reflecting over the lake are awesome. The rains have subsided so we could enjoy several gorgeous days.
My school district has filtered your blog so my students and I cannot access it from school . . bummer! The kids are excited to know what is going on, so I am going to print your letters and read the parts that would be of interest to them. So don't stop writing about the beer, etc.(ha)because of my students.
The neighbors said that we get absolutely no trick-or-treaters here on the lake. That's quite a change from 100-200 at our old place. Well, Happy Halloween. Our regular time goes off Daylight Savings Time the first weekend in November.
Take care, be safe and healthy! We love you and miss you, but know this is a very special second honeymoon. Love always, Mim.
