Just to the north of the salt pans in Botswana, there's a SMALL town called Gweta. We were in the bush outside of the small town called Gweta at a backpackers called Planet Baobab. We got there early due to our 6 am wake up call by the teenage cricket team that shared the camping area with us. We had the campground to ourselves and set up camp under a thatch roof hut. The pool was very cold yet inviting because of the heat. Up to this point, it has been cold. This was the first day that we didn't have to wear pants, jackets and wool socks. We tried to get a little sun by the pool, only to be invaded by not one, but two wedding parties wanting to take wedding photos. Apparently this was the place in Gweta for those special photos. Quickly covering ourselves, we wound up hanging out and meeting wedding guests. We were quite a novelty. Guests wanted their pictures taken with us!! Beth even trilled for the bride and groom in congratulations (on their video). We graciously ducked out of there when we were being a distraction from the bride and groom. It was very fun. We spent the rest of the day relaxing in the shade on cow-hide chairs. (Jeff, the beer is good here.) They have a two beers here named St. Louis and Lion. Pilsner. Quenches the thirst though after driving down dusty roads all day! By the way, we are driving a Ford Focus hatchback. Africans love Fords!! "How much does that rent for a day" and "Good gas mileage?" are common.
