I joke about the big city, other than it wasn't the bush and there were buildings higher than two stories. It did have a bustling little business district where we got some chocolate bars and a phone card. Moms and Dad, we will use it when we get back to South Africa. We didn't realize that we couldn't use it out of SA. It was a stopping over point on our way to Botswana, but we got some great photos of purple flowering trees (Beth's favorite!!)
Even though we spend a lot of time driving, it's well worth it. From Kruger to Pietersburg, we had mountains in the mist and banana plantations for as far as we could see. Even the small shanty villages between "towns" are beautiful in their own way.
