Well, it's just two weeks from our departure from Miami.  Beth is working overtime finishing her first LEED building and Erik is working hard at home preping for the big trip.  Erik will be leaving tomorrow to take the VW back up to Chippewa Falls, WI for storage until we get back.  We're a little nervous about the bus making the whole trip but, with the new engine there shouldn't be anything else that can break (crossing our fingers).

Our first travel "experience" was dealing with our excentric nurse who gave us our vaccinations with the largest needles in the box - Ouch!! We finished yesterday, and now our arms are healing.  Check back in a couple weeks and we should have some better stuff.....from South Africa!!

Don't go
I don't really know how to say so it doesn't sound funny, but we are really going to miss you 2... Put it this way, Who are we going to go with to the Anual Jazz meeting in the getto like the last 2 years? Go to Africa but come back to Miami....

Departure Day
Beth and Erik, you've been in my thoughts all day and I imagine your excitement as you prepared to board the plane and actually lift off! You've planned hard for a year and now all that planning is behind you and the day is at hand. I pray that all is well now and in the 8 weeks ahead. We will joyously await your return at Christmas and look forward to photo's and stories of your wonderful journey. We'll look forward to hearing from you along the way via your Travelogue.

Brings back memories...
Wow, you are finally off on your big adventure! You get a break from working (for awhile), are done with packing, and ready to play! We're sorry we missed talking with you last night (before you cut off you phone service in preparation to go). We anxiously await news from you. Have a safe, healthy (shots should help!!) and fabulous trip! Hope you have as much fun as we did traveling there.
