The hotel we are staying at is just recently completed and it is very nice. The rooms are big enough for all of our stuff and we are working through some of the issues that a new hotel might have. For instance there is no iron available in the rooms. I attempted to get one, but hit the language barrier and wound up having to go out and buy one and we are now ironing our clothes on a towel on the floor. At first we did not have a refrigerator, so Mike asked the front desk if they could get us one and that night there was a fridge in our room. So that was nice, and then we got home yesterday from working and there was a different refrigerator in the room. Sometimes we receive phone calls and it takes quite some time for me to figure out what they are saying, sometimes I just say "how about tomorrow" and they say OK. I'm assuming they are asking if I want my room cleaned or not.

Although the hotel is nice, we are considering going to a different one down the street. Just for convenience purposes. The other hotel has 3 restaurants, a small gym, a bar and a few other amenities that may make life easier. We will decide next week whether we are going to make the switch or not. At $70 a night, it is twice the cost of our current place.

We have joined a gym that is called "California Sports Club"...The first day we used it, there was no AC on and we were soaked. So everything was working out good with the gym, but the last two days we tried to go it was closed. Yesterday we were told that it doesn't open until 2:30 in the afternoon.
