Got up and set off to Queenstown, as we were entering the town we passed the first ever Bungee - The Kawarau Bridge bungee jump, one of the three AJ Hackett Bungees. I had a look but we had already decided that we were going to do one - the highest one. We headed into town and had a drive around Lake Wakatipu then went and booked our bungy for the following afternoon. Queenstown was a nice town with lots of boutiques and restaurants, there were also loads of people with all their ski gear on which made us jealous as there is so many slopes around that area.

Got up scared and spent the whole morning wishing we were doing the smaller bungees at 43m or 47m, but instead we had signed up for the 134m Nevis Highwire Bungy. It was a 30 minute ride in a bus with about 20 other jumpers. We were then harnessed up and 4 of us were taken out to the bungy pod aboard a shuttle that crossed the canyon. This was scary enough as it was windy and the bungy pod is swinging and is held by wires but this adds to the effect. There were also glass areas in the hanging pod so u could see all the way into the canyon
Nevis...
..."Want an outdoor adventure, beautiful scenery and extreme highs? Then the Nevis Highwire Bungy, 134m above the rugged Nevis River, combines all these elements into a mind blowing series of unforgettable events. With 8.5 seconds of falling its a breathtaking ground rush like no other. Come stand on the edge and face your fear in what is for many one of the greatest personal challenges of their life. Make no mistake, the Nevis Highwire Bungy is not for the nervous"...

. Tom went second but I could hardly watch I was so scared. He seemed fine though and was looking down as he walked to the platform!! We then had to watch and wait for everyone else to come over and go back as I was the lightest and had to wait until the end! I was shaking the whole time while sat in the chair before my jump. I had to shut my eyes while I edged out but as soon as she said go I just launched myself. It was the weirdest feeling ever but very glad we did it - and the biggest one too!! That afternoon we drove to a little town called Cromwell where we stocked up on supplies. Nevis...
