We got off the ferry onto the South Island at about 5pm and drove along a very windy coastal road to a small town, Havelock, which bills itself as the green mussle capital of the world, Lizzie had to stop and sample some - much bigger and tastier than those we picked out tof Wellington harbour last night! We drove on into the night until we found a good spot next to a river to bed down for the night.
