What a busy week it has been!! I'm really pleased to let you all know that my elder sister had a new baby over the weekend; a beautiful little bundle called Charlie Jasper! Congratulations Caroline and Paul, we are so happy for you and we can’t wait to get home and meet our new nephew. Xxx

This week also saw our 6 month traveling anniversary! It is absolutely crazy to think that we have been traveling for 6 months, it only feels like two minutes since we left home and we can’t believe how far we have come and how much we have experienced in the last 6 months. It has been an incredible journey so far.

This week was also our second week of volunteering for ChildTRAC. We are really starting to get our teeth into our work now; Tom has tackled tons of IT problems and I feel like I am making great progress with the Sponsor a Child program. The sponsorship program is being done in conjunction with a local orphanage which cares for children who lost their parents in the tsunami; I feel like I’m working for a truly worthwhile cause and I am really proud to be part of this work. Since he has fixed the computers, Tom has now been asked to work with me to develop a new website for the Sponsorship program; it is a bit strange working together on a project but I think we actually make a good team as we know each other so well. Hopefully by the end of our time here we will have the program and website up and running and then the charity can start raising more funds for the wonderful kids at the orphanage; we will be bursting with pride if we manage to make it happen because we have been given full responsibility for it. We are working day and night to get the sponsorship program running, so if for whatever reason it doesn’t work out then it won’t be for lack of trying.

But today we weren’t working in the office; today we were going back up to the nursery to tackle the mural which Tom has designed. He managed to get some of it drawn out during our visit last week before the children mobbed him but there was still tons of work to be done. So we all rolled up our sleeves and as Tom was drawing the mural on the wall, we were following him around the room painting it all in. It took 6 of us all day to get it done but it was worth it. By the end of the day the room looked absolutely incredible! We were all getting really choked up at the end because the nursery owners were telling us that they knew the children would love it. I was so proud of Tom; he planned the whole thing, drew it all by hand without any help, designed the colour scheme and even helped out with the painting! He achieved something wonderful for the children at the nursery and he deserves to feel really proud of himself.

Well done Tom, it looked amazing! xxx
