This weekend was the Yacht Club's Outrigger canoe races. The team from Western Samoa came over to race with the America Samoan team. Just the women's team though. The afternoon was filled with a myriad of races, including some social races for us. It ia a lot of fun paddling these canoes. They really get moving. We had been practicing all week, and all the social races were pretty competitive, even if the American Samoan team got walloped by the Samoans, mostly due to a lack of serious practice.
Amanda and I catered the pasta dinner, which of course was a huge success. Lots of Vailima, and then the awards ceremony followed. I won Gatorade powder, and Amanda got a new handbag, not as prizes, but as the loser's raffle.
Sunday was slow, including breakfast, a few chores, and then volleyball. Amanda and I are off to another island for five days to celebrate our anniversary next week. It is supposed to be even more beautiful.
Hopefully we should have some new photos up soon, if we can get on a decent connection, which is hard.
Look for a previous journal, which I should have finished soon.
