Our original plan was to head back into Bariloche, (Argentina) from Pucon, before heading north. However, we decided since we will be heading there for ski season, we’d skip it out for now and bus it to Santiago instead (saving valuable pages in the passport too – we now have 7 stamps for Chile and Argentina). We took an overnight bus to Santiago, which was fine apart from the annoying ‘little’ old woman who insisted on reclining her seat back as far as it would go despite the
fact that it was up against Tom’s knees. Looking back it was quite funny – an old lady bouncing up and down on Tom`s lap (well she might have well as been), cursing under her breath with me trying to explain in rubbish Spanish why she couldn’t move it further. They’re quite determined these old Spanish mujers! Do not underestimate them.
3 lazy days by the pool in Santiago (not much else to do here). We found a great hostel ‘la Casa
Roja’, with it’s own pool and bar – perfect combination. We did some site seeing – the fish market was rubbish but there was a good museum - B.A. is definitely still our favourite city so far.
