After a freezing coach journey (they have advertised pay $23 for a ticket and get pneumonia for free!) from Bocas del Toro we reached Panama City at 5am. Our day in Panama was spent walking around the city. This is the first Central American capital where we felt safe walking around the streets and highways. Panama City is a developing mega-city with high skyscrapers, awe-inspiring hotels, and a massive banking and investment sector unlike any of cities we have seen so far in Central America.

The mall we visited was a 3 storey multi-plaza with every high end shop you could imagine. Normally we wouldn't mind walking into such shops to browse, but looking like skanky travellers we felt totally out of place. Hollie felt very shameful as she looked like a Tweenie in her grey pumps whilst a pair red Jimmy Choos stared her in the face! The shops were fabulous, every WAGS dream place to take her footballers money. There was also a shop called "The Snob Shop"; appropriately named some would say.

To end our day in Panama City and our trip to Central America we decided to go to the cinema. We hoped it was in English and crossed fingers tightly until the first word was spoken, thankfully it was in English and we sighed in relief. The next morning we got a taxi to the airport and checked in without any problems. Sigh of relief considering after our first flight to Mexico City went into administration and nobody had told us until we got to the desk to check-in. We were both nervous some other mis-hap would happen with these flights. But everything went swimmingly. We had a connecting flight in Columbia, from where we got a flight to Lima, the capital of Peru.

Our flight was with Avianca Airlines and we were very impressed. The service was excellent, the seats big and comfortable, and all come with entertainment systems where we could choose any film we wanted, as well as play games, watch TV and listen to music. We also got 2 tasty meals on both flights, as well as wine, beer and soft drinks. Considering that both flights combined only took three hours in total; it was very unexpected! Definitely puts easyjet to shame and I would definitely think about getting this airline again over Virgin and BA. I just hope our next flight from Buenos Aires is as good!

As our trip through Central America is now over please see this video to re-live the memories!!!!
