In the afternoon we headed for the airport and boarded our flight to destination three: Hamburg!
On our last day in Copenhagen we decided to go a day trip to Malmo. This is a Swedish city that you can get to over a big bridge from Copenhagen. We caught the train quite early in the morning and set off. Malmo is a beautiful city, is has a real Parisian feel to it. There are wide, open roads with lovely brick buildings rising up on each side. There are canals winding all the way through the city itself. We spent around 45 minutes walking around and looked in some of the bigger churches and buildings. We then took the canal boat tour. It was interesting hearing about the history of the city. Malmo is quite an industrial place and the canal boat tour took us through the industrial port where there were large ships and industries, including a big site where they make the windmills for windfarms! After the canal boat and the church, there isn't that much more to do in Malmo; it is definitely best as a half-day trip (we think!) done as part of one's time in Copenhagen. We hope to explore the rest of Sweden, Norway and Finland at Easter next year, it was nice to get a little taste of one of the smaller Swedish cities to see what we are in for!
