Another day, another tour! Today we were off to sample the finest wines in all the land. But first we had to stop at the reptile park. This though wasn't a bad thing as the park was very well done and there was just the 9 of us on the tour there. We got to cuddle a koala, feed emus and have morning tea with kangaroos. Pretty cool.
Before we knew it though, we were off again down the highway for our first winery Golden Grapes, who's specialitity was Devil's Breathe a really potent liquor, not one I'd recommend to anyone really. The rest of the wines were alright, Julesy prefered the white chocolate schnapps above the Chardonnays.
At the next stop, Draytons family winery, we first had a tour showing where the grapes were pressed right to how they were bottled and labeled. Then it was on to the important bit of seeing if we could taste the difference between oak matured chardonnay and stainles steel matured. We both fancied the stainless steel one more, but an old lady at the end wasn't liking any off the wines...she would try one and declare "don't like it!" just as in Little Britain and then belch loudly. Later on (after some more wines and eructations) she told us that she actually didn't drink wines at all at home back in Yorkshire!!
The final stop was at a small winery called Ivanhoe, which had the nicest setting and possibly also some of the better wines but by that point we couldn't really tell! To finish the tour off we stopped at the smelly cheese shop to sample some local cheeses and also some excellent ice cream!! It was good:) Returned home quiet merry!
