Thankfully we woke to brilliant sunshine today and relatively calm seas for our trip out to the great barrier reef. I had arranged to do 2 dives and Jules was going to snorkel around the reefs. I'm going to leave this one for Jules to write about as she saw more than I did as I had to wait on the first dive for our guide who was having to deal with some worried ladies unwilling to head below 3 metres. My 2nd dive was better but the chap I was diving with had offered to go halves on the underwater camera I'd rented and was more intent on pics of himself underwater than of the fishes. Slightly annoying but I still had a great time diving the reef!

I managed to pull myself together and had a great time snorkelling!! When I got to the reef it was amazing, not sure of the names of the fish but saw so many different ones - stripy ones, spotty ones, brightly coloured ones, black and white ones, big, small .. you name it I think I probably saw it!! The best bit was that a turtle came and swam right next to me for ages as it was munching its way through a jellyfish!! That was immense!! Tom also saw the back end of a reef shark but unfortunately the inexperienced girls he was with scared it off, doh!!

Got back feeling pretty jaded and bumped into 2 girls we had been with on the first leg of the Intrepid tour, random!! Went out to the Woolshed and had some drinks with them which was good fun as we reminissed about our trip, can't believe it was only 2 weeks ago, so much has happened since then!!
