After the zoo we were scheduled to stop at the lookout over Port Douglas and its beaches but all we would've seen was white clouds so it was onto Cape Tribulation for lunch. When we got there we should've seen amazing clear blue seas lapping against pristine beaches bordered by tropical rainforests but instead we saw a grey murky ocean with a muddy beach
After our lunch stop we drove a short distance to a boardwalk through one of the oldest rainforests in the world were apparently trees have remained there for 1000s of years. There were strangler trees and quite a few others whos names I cant remember. We got to see it all as well in the rain:) Next up the Daintree River for some croc spotting and we did manage to spot one even though it was just a youngster and only a metre long. We kept searching in vain for crocs but for the rest of the trip the most we saw was fruit bats and green frogs. Still the boatman kept us entertained with stories of stupid people who get attacked by crocs.
Our buses had driven up river to meet up with us at the stop and with a quick tea and biscuit we were ready for the return back to Cairns via Port Douglas and a fruit seller. The day was good fun but it could've been alot better if the sun had shone.
Jules isn't feeling great at the moment. She getting a nasty cough. Strepsils just dont seem to be helping much. Hopefully she'll get better soon.
