Halong Bay is the largest diamond in the crown of the Vietnamese tourism industry.A total of 1967 islands  and islets, all covered with lush vegetation, and some of them harbouring nice limestone caves, visited by thousand of tourists every day.
Most of them come on a day excursion, but I decided to sleep on one of these wooden junks, it was a great decision to spend the night under the stars of Halong Bay, and go for sunset kayaking in the quiet waters inbetween the limestone islets,  another UNESCO world heritage site in the country.
Many vietnamese ladies are selling grocery products on their small boats, a kind of  floating market with exotic fruits and drinks, in front of this magnificient background of the Halong Bay limestone mountains.
Its waters are host to a great diversity of ecosystems including offshore coral reefs, freshwater swamp forests, mangrove forests, small freshwater lakes, and sandy beaches Floating grocery store, Halong Bay

The folk tale has it that the dragons descended from heaven to help locals by spitting jewels and jade to the sea, forming a natural fortress against invaders; these precious stones are represented by the lush green outcrops. Several islands boast beautiful grottos and caves with contiguous chambers, hidden ponds and peculiar stone formations.
And sometimes pirates.!The vietnamese police has put up some "floating police stations" in Halong Bay, especially close to the place where most of the tourist boats are spending the night..!Just in case..!
But my night in the "Dragon Bay" was very peaceful!
