Today its a day train to the neighbour province of Guizhou, my journey is just 7 hours, compared to the Chinese family in my compartment, they come from the coastal town of Fuzhou, and travel 32 hours non-stop.
In front of the Guiyang train station its hectic and chaotic, but the city is more modern that I thought. The province is considered as one of the poorest in China, but that's not very evident in the capital Guiyang. There is even a "Guiyang Sheraton" hotel right in the center, obviously, that was not my first choice for accomodation, but still  I became their client tonight for the somptous evening buffet, there was even NZ oysters and Emmenthaler cheese, but of an inferior quality..!
Because of heavy rain, I have to cancel my planned trip to the Huangguosho waterfalls, the biggest cascades in whole of China. And the provincial museum looks like it will be closed for a long long time..
Anyway, Guiyang was just a technical stopover..on my way to Kunming in Yunnan province, this time night train again.
