I have arrived!
We evuntually got in to Guayaquil in Ecuador and arrived at the boat after about 18 hours travel in total! We were knackered! I am out here with Dad and Georg, who is coming on the Pacific trip and has come out early to get the boat ready.
The boat doesn't look too bad after being left for 2 years, but we do have a fair bit to do before we can leave so we have a month to gt everything ready before setting off to the Galapagos - can't wait!
The weather is great: its the middl of January and we're walking around in shorts and t-shirts in 26 deg sun!
We can't wait to get the boat in the water. Because we have to paint the hull, sort something with the propeller and fit a watermaker, the boat will be out of the water for 2 weeks which means no toilets and no working fridge as the compressor for the fridge works off the engine - which cannot be run unless we're in the water. So the next 2 weeks are going to be a pain, but once the boat is in we'll be able to sail ever day!

You lucky, lucky...
Ecuador sounds fantastic - I'm glad the boat's not in too bad nick, and even if you've got two weeks' work ahead it doesn't sound all that bad to me considering the weather you've got to 'put up' with!
Sorry I didn't get round to emailing or calling before you left, or see you at graduation - hope you had a really great christmas/new year, and I look forward to hearing about your adventures!
Jess

Heya Tom, Jake from steds here. Good to see you made it out there safely, didnt get abducted by south american rebels intent on holding a westerner hostage in demand for increased research into the correlation between 3-toed sloths and daytime tv presenters.
