We are now back in Nadi and awaiting our flight to New Zealand tomorrow morning at 10.30 local time (10.30pm uk time). We are really looking forward to NZ.. but we have had loads of fun in fiji and are quite sad to say good bye. Since the last entry we have stayed at an amazing resort called Octopus which was more like a hotel than the other places, it even had a menu to choose from for the food - 11 items! quite something when you've been getting a plate of food put in front of you. A really nice resort and we met lots of really cool people... but we had to leave as it was a little more expensive and was also booked out for the next night. So, we travelled on the big yellow boat that takes you to the different islands and headed for the Sunset resort - sounds nice right? did in the lonely planet too- dont go there EVER!! It was horrible, had a really bad vibe as soon as we got there, everyone was pretty miserable, the food we had that night ws not even something you would give to the dog - another guest joked that they had takent eh meat off and given it to the dog adn given us the bones! The Bure that we stayed in had lino over the walls for the shower! and there was no light over that area so who knows what creepys were lerking there! There were huge holes in the walls and we saw a cockroach so big we at first thought it was a mouse! The mosquito net had huge holes in - it was all too horrible. We were booked in for 2 nights and paid upfront (the only time we did this - should have rung alarm bells!) so we cancelled the second night and forfitted F$46 (about 13 pounds) a small price to pay. We went down to the next island and went to Bounty Island, much better, we felt like kings at dinner that night!
So now we are back in Nadi and getting ready for our flight out to NZ. Managed to pick up a lonely planet for a whole 1.50 from the hostel we are in so we can plan our trip on the plane. We are hoping to call you Dad and Steve/Liz when we get there so hopefully you'll hear from us - the calls are bit of a nightmare from here, sorry about that.
Hope alls well - oh i heard through the grapevine you all had snow? At least if it has to be cold its white! xxx
